Getting picked up by Google....?

I'm sure the suggestion to my question will be to be more patient.... and develop the site more!!

I have three inbound links to my webpage since the new year. I have checked the cache to the pages with the links and they have all been visited by google at least once.

And when checking with my hosting service it says that two referrals have come from google.co.uk, one from www.google.com and that google robot has visited my site.

My site is still very basic at the moment and only a few pages at present.

Is it likely that google has not indexed me as it thiks my site is unprofessional or is waiting to see if my site is still online a couple of weeks later.... and not just an up and down site???.... BTW - msn appears to be the only search engine to have pickedup my site so far.

    Any advice appreciated,

    Joe

Try site:www.yourdomain.com in a Google search to see if it has indexed you. Getting good links from high profile sites is a sure fire way to get indexed fast.

Post 9 more good posts over the next 6 days and you can submit a website review so we can scrutinize your navigational structure etc.

Google doesn't care if your site is "unprofessional" i.e. poorly designed, bad layout, etc. You said you established some inbound links beginning this year. That's only a few weeks ago. If the site is completely brand new, it'll be a long while before you can count on Google to send you decent traffic. That's just how it is with new sites. Nothing you can really do about it except establish more links and continually add content so that when Google does finally index you, you'll be ready to go. In the meantime, keep adding content and fixing the "unprofessional" site design, and read the forum for more SEO tips/hints/etc.
