So i'm starting a forum (eventually it will be more) about clans (gaming). I have a lot of ideas for the site, and it will slowly be released more and more.. but.. how do I get people to register, start a thread, and keep coming back on a forum where i'm the only user registered?

    clanproject.com is the domain btw..

Any tips? Please help, thanks :)

pay them, that usually works and is how most forums get off the ground.

yes, forum post exchange, also post on gaming blogs about it, post on threads related to gaming, but best - join online games and report about a new gaming community, but a good tip would be to find a partner , I would be interested to found in it if you convince me it's profitable. Having a partner you will have less work and more investments, which will result more win.

I run a forum which has a good gaming section myself and I've gained most of my traffic from either already forum members, or playing games and telling people about it, for example while I'm gaming and speaking to other gamers, after some chit-chat, I inform them I run a forum which has a good gaming section and suggest they register and check it out, it works a lot of the time. Even if it does take 5 minutes of talking to get 1 new member, you would be playing the game either way, so your just advertising by playing the game, get members you have already to invite their friends, get your friends to invite their friends etc. Social-advertising like this is the best way to start off a forum.
