    Hey Everyone,
I have setup a new blog, but I am having problems getting people to read it. I have written a couple unique articles and am going to continue writing quality articles. How can I get more people to read my blog and subscribe to my RSS feeds?

    Thanks!

Why do you read the things you read? Answer that question...then work on making your blog that answer for your potential readers.

The simple answer is to write things an audience will care about (unique alone does not equal worth reading) then make sure that audience knows you're there.

You can advertise it a bit or link exchange with related sites. Thats how we do it.

Signingup with most of the blog listings/rankings will surely help.

I think that GuyFromChicago is exactly right. It is not enough to write unique content. You have to write something compelling that people will want to read. Think about what your readers will get out of reading your content and tell them up front in your title. If your writing doesnt' address a want or a need of readers, write somehting different that does.

One thing I would add...don't make a "news" blog.

Everyone and their mother has a blog that talks about "news" from their industry. 99% of these blogs are crap - they just rehash the same things that are on 10000000 other blogs.

Write about what you're doing/working on/living through - be original. When I think of the blogs I read most often they have one common trait - the people writing them actually care about what they are writing about, they are not writing just to create content and draw readers. They blog because they like too, the number of readers is unimportant to them.

Something more than link would have been nice....

something i was going to point out, this can always help. also, maybe try doing a digg for it to try and get some traffic. Other than that, like the others have said..link exchanges and asking questions
