    Hi,

I used to be getting a minimum of $0.60 a click. Sometimes $2. Now, im getting $0.04 per click!? This has happened for a full week now...

I hav'nt change anything, i can understand why they are doing this.

    Can anybody explain?

    Thanks.

Go to your site and look at ads on it. Write down urls and search for them to see the sites. Do not click on any ads on your site.

Now if any site has adsense ads or clickbank ads filter thier url. It is in setup in adsense. Basicaly yu block thier ads. Most of the junk sites take your traffic for thier adsense or clickbank sites and pay as low as 1/2 click to you.

I just do that and find out that 95% adds sites are using adsense.
I blocked them by competitive filter.

Smartpricing mostly occurs if u are using duplicate content or u are displaying ads on websites with totally different content

That's not the only reason...in fact I don't think the first one is even one of the reasons at all. The second part might be somewhat, but definitely not the first. From what I understand, smart pricing is a result of poor conversions once the visitor gets to the advertisers site. Your first reason has nothing to do with that. Your second could, but, with the way Adsense works, how do you get such irrelevant ads on your site?

Smart Pricing sounds like something that SHOULD happen with PPA programs, not PPC - as we are paid by the click, not "by the action" :)

Thought about this one for a while and what I came up with is...we have to look at this the same as most everything else...that it is considered from the advertiser's point of view, thus it should be PFC and PFA. Paying For Clicks and Paying For Actions. Not that WE are being PAID for clicks made or actions performed. If the clicks the advertiser pays for aren't converting, the price of those clicks goes down.

My big question is what determines those conversions? All the more reason to filter MFA sites...the owners of those just have to say that they are getting poor conversions and they have to pay even less for those clicks. And how do you measure a conversion on an MFA site? There is no product, the only "product" is a click on one of THEIR ads. Not really something you can honestly measure without admitting you are doing arbitrage.

If you are serious about Adsense you should invest in a tracking script. You could check your past days to see if in fact the advertisers are different. If so you have your answer. If not obviously you look eleswhere.

It's also a very real possiblity that you have lost some good incoming links that google was using to consider your site as being more valuable.

It could also be just their alogrithum for the adsense bot and the tools they use to determine quality changed.

I have a site that is popular and makes a whopping penny a click from Adsense. On a Killer day that site may make 10 cents on a click. I know from experience that smart pricing or not the advertiser is paying substantially more. Google is simply keeping more of the profit.

It's amazing that a program with so little disclosure can attract so many people willing to work for the proverbial peanuts.

The average guy would be insulted if you offered him a job at minimum wage. But set him in front of a computer with the promise of making big money and they will work for pennies an hour.
