What would be some of the best stratagies to put myself out there in the rankings and bring some decent traffic with a blog site that isnt set on one niche in general but a vast majority. Technology, reviews, jokes, humor, news, sports, etc??

Any ideas would be very helpful

Well, a general blog is a bit more difficult to promote. I would say just keep posting, and make sure the posts are quality and try to bring people in by posting on other blogs and forums...

From there, start some type of SEO...

    Find a more targeted niche.

At least find ways to relate posts rather than being completely random. You'll have a tough time attracting (and then retaining) visitors if you have nothing to interest them, and keep them interested.

I agree, find a niche that you will most blog about and every so often throw in a couple of articles that dont relate to it.

You aren't a hot chick by any chance? That always helps.

Otherwise, if the topics are random, your personality and writing style will have to be the hook.
