Getting Nowhere with Google

I have a PR4 technology blog that does fairly well with Google. Normally all new posts are indexed in a matter of minutes.

I used to be able to post something and it would automatically get a decent ranking in Google Search. After I started posting to my blog more often, this stopped.

I made a post to my blog almost a month ago, a review of the Sonicare toothbrush. Despite getting some links to it, it still doesn't rank for even the most uncompetitive terms.

    What's going on here?

Ermmm I'd say blatant paid links? The guys you have linking to you don't even attempt to hide the fact that they're paid. Random topics, overly generous anchor text, rarely an insight...I'd say either you directly got slapped, or they did and lost their ability to pass link juice.

GoogleBot crawls automatically decrease over time. If a certain page doens't update frequently, it gets visited less frequently. So over a blog, only categories/tags/frontpage will get frequent bots eventually.
