Getting Noticed

Just how big do you have to get before advertisers come to you. I'm getting several thousand unique visitors per day in a potentially very profitable niche. Is anyone ever going to notice me?

In fact, just how do you get noticed? How do you get people to come to you?

Hi, Not with my current website but with another one that I use for my offline business I had advertisers come to me. My site doesn't get thousand of visitiors but it gets hundreds of very targeted visitors and had a google page rank of 6. It may have a lot to do with your seo and PR. What is the source of your traffic? See what I mean. Either way it was about a year of having my site before I was approched by advertisers. I didn't accept their offers cause I like my site the way it is and didn't want advertising on it but they still contact me all the time. Good Luck wish I could help more.

Well, congrats on that. Actually, I have had contacts, but they are very "hypey", low quality sites.

What's interesting is that even though my page rank is not that high, my traffic is doing quite well and I also have very targeted traffic.

If anyone has any other ideas...

have you tried contacting potential advertisers yourself?

or posting about advertising opportunity inside relevant forums for the niche you get traffic on?

Going after some publicity can help boost your profile & awareness of your content, particularly if you can get someone to write/blog/mention you in something potential advertisers in your niche will see.  Look to connect with people who are hubs for your target audience (bloggers, online magazines, offline magazines, newspapers, etc).

Not yet. I don't feel that I know enough about it to really contact someone.

I heard that there were people who did "Media Buys". I was hoping I could work with someone with some knowledge of the subject.

Well, that's the debate, though, that I have in my mind:

might it not be better to implement Quantcast, and then grow from there?

Please be careful in this area.

I just started a niche site in may, and it hasn't been getting a lot of traffic. Someone contacted me, and the way that they approached me was like they were going to be advertising on my site. A couple of emails later and they wanted to sell me a product.

you may just need to promote few keywords to be the first and benefit from them. if the great traffic could not bring sales then it's useless.

Try placing ads and building links to related, authentic websites that will allow to link back to you.Once that is done try to spread the word around via some submissions as well.

Try to find connections with other blogs ans sites out there. Make new business relationships while trading backlinks. Promotion is key.

How big? Maybe you need at least 100000 unique visitors monthly.
How to get people notice you? Post your website at advertising section of this forum. If your website is good, people will buy advertising from you.

Sometimes letting the advertiser know your stats with a huge banner that says "advertise here"
