My site is getting nothing, I have been writing articles, submit them, ping them and no conversions. Both my sites are in my sig. can you check out and give me some feedback, please. I have been at this for 5 weeks now with $30.00 total in my adsense account.
Care to give us some more information? What your main source of traffic? Is it articles? If yes, forget it. It doesn't work anymore, unless you publish and push around 50 quality articles a day. Apart form that, excuse me for saying that, but your blogs look kinda spammy. Why not invest in your own domain and hosting? Get a quality theme and optimize your ad placement. Usually readers will jump straight to the content of your blog, scrolling right past your adsense ads. How many clicks are you getting? If the blog is making you around 1-2$ of adsense revenue a day, do not expect more. You will need to go for quantity over quality with blogs like these. Try placing your ads in the right sidebar, so that they are constantly in the visual field of the audience. Apart from that, give us some more info and we will be able to provide you with more feedback! Cheers and good luck!
Hi Flydali. A few things come to mind: 1.I agree with Soneat in that your blogs do look a bit spammy, especially the Estonia one. The reason being is that it has very short (Probably too short) posts with a lot of links in each one of them. Try posting longer quality posts with less links. 2.Get social! For each blog open a twitter account with a relevant name (Ex. "EstoniaHolidays"). Do a search on Twitter for relevant people to follow using targeted keywords (Ex. Estonia, holidays, Tallinn) and start following them so they follow you back. Each time you have a new post tweet about it. Open a facebook group and start building your fan base. Use social bookmarking sites such as Digg and Mixx to spread the word. After each post ping your web page, your social bookmark etc. using Pingler. Get people to comment on your blog. Use Onlywire/Ping.fm to automate the social bookmarking process. 3.As your blog gains momentum start your own Wordpress blog hosted on your own server and link to it from your Blogger. Wordpress will supply you with a slew of plugins which can speed up your blogging experience. There's a plugin which would tweet everytime you post and there's the legendary All-in-one-SEO plugin as well as other useful ones. 4. Get backlinks to your site. Search for forums in your area using your keyword + "forums". Post there with your link in your sig thus driving quality targeted traffic to your site and getting backlinks. Comment on other relvant bloggs with your URL. Look for bloggs with the Top Commentators Widget. Post your blog to directories such as Technorati. 5.I would try concentrating more on affiliating links or CPA to monetize your blog. I think it's better if you focus your efforts on one method and master it. 6.Having your own domain is important. Do some keyword research using Google Keyword Tool for starters. Look for relevant keywords and choose a keyword reach domain with no more than two words, preferably .COM. Choose no more than keywords you want to target in each post and use them 2-3 times in each post and at least once in the first 100 words. Use tags. Good luck..
Thats some great info, you can also check out my www.howtobuycheapairfare.com. This I own the domain name, and its not coverting either. I have been article marketing and forum posts. I have not made one sale yet on my CJ also. I am not good at designing pages, you can tell....lol My taffic ia about 100 per day.
Well, I'm sorry, this is not meant to insult you, it's just constructive criticism. As it stands now, none of your websites look credible enough for me to persuade me into buying something for you. I guess it is about the general look. That howtobuychepwhatever.com - there are so many white spaces that the content just cannot be assimilated by the visitor. "Try it today - GAP - Happy travels.... GAP GAP" - it just doesn't make sense. I think the easiest for you is to start the whole thing from scratch. Find a lovely, glossy WP theme, download a sticky-post plugin and stick the CJ offer so that it always stays on top. Then fill the site with useful content, destinations, travel tips (you can pinch those from Tripadvisor or any other idiotic giant travel website and rewrite it). That Estonian blog... again, get a proper theme. Your post titles do not read. Try to pretend you're a genuine person and write from your own perspective. I mean, no-one will check if you have visited Estonia or not (I very much recommend you do, though). Diversify your promotion efforts. Try Squidoo. I'm in travel industry as well (sort of... part time) and I've had some good targeted traffic from the squid. Just don't give up. Whoever said it was easy - he was a liar
I would recommend you buy your own domain. You may need to invest in a webmaster and SEO expert at the least.
Dear Flydali. 1.I think tankard was write saying you need to get more quality and useful content. For starters I would pick 2-3 of the more practical articles you've already posted under the category Travel Tips and using the Sticky Posts feature in WP 2.7 get them to stay on the homepage, replacing the current articles. 2.I'm a web designer and actually I think that Howtobuycheapairfare.com doesn't look that bad. It could use some enhancement but once filled with quality content it should look better - after all it's a content blog, it has to look clean and the content needs to be given centrestage, that's it. A few simple tweaks that can help: a.Play around with the Title (How to..) so it doesn't go on top of the happy couple's heads. Choose more attractive and eye catching fonts. Look at the graphics on Jeremy Burns' SourceCodeGoldmine. It's a salespage selling PLR packages but the graphics here are great and can give you a better idea of what I mean. If you're not good with graphics you can always outsource, even on Digital Point, and give the designer this link and the source files you've used for the banner (The images are fine). b.Get rid of those banners or maybe stick to only one, but content should be king here. c.Be consistent in your graphic choices. It doesn't take any graphic skills to stick to the same style, color and size of post titles for example. This will make your blog look more professional. Look at Simon Leung's Blog.OK it's not about Tourism but the guy is a top SEO expert and he knows a thing or two about how to get top ranking with your blog. Look at his blog - makes you want to read more doesn't it? Look at the way he uses Tags. Another example: dtalphaDOTcomSLASHtalkback. This is Stephen Pierce's blog. He is a top marketer and a multi-millionaire and he's making good use of the power of blogging and social media. Although ther's lots of advertising the site looks clean and appealing doesn't it? 3.Just like Stephen Pierce has done I think you need an opt-in box on the first page collecting names to build your list by offering them a free ebook, report or video. It's very easy to put together a free report, use PLR content or as Flydali has mentioned use travel sites like TripAdvisor to draw ideas from. If you want to speed things up outsource it here or on Odesk or on the Warrior Forum. Hey, if you're getting 100 Uniques a day and your opt-in box (Or better yet, a squeeze page or pop-up) converts at, say, 15%, then that's 15 new subscribers per day. 450 new list members a month. 1350 in 3 months. Now if you treat them right and build a good relationship with them then that's powerful. Your list alone is worth the effort and you can market them other affiliate offers (Which you have tried) and, ultimately, your own product. 4.Rob Benwell is selling an excellent ebook called Blogging to the Bank is a blueprint on how to monetize your blog (You don't need the upsells that much, the book is good enough). MyBloggingBlueprint is a blogging course which can really help you and is now free. 5.If you want to take your blog appearence and monetization to the next level consider these WP themes: wpremix and socratestheme They are not free but can really give your blog a professional look and help you monetize it much more easily. 6.When you do your keyword research look for longtail words, such as "cheap airfares estonia" or whatever you come across. This way you can spot KWs with less competition and rank high for them while driving targeted traffic to your site. As long as the number of searches per month is over 1000 and there are no more than 15,000 sites competing for that Kw it's worth considering it. There are free videos available on Affilorama. Consider getting a sexier domain name, something shorter and sweeter. Domain Samurai is a new domain research tool, from the makers of the legendary Keyword Samurai. You might want to give it a shot. 7.A few effective traffic methods you can start using NOW: -Yahoo answers: Register on Yahoo and look for open question about travel and cheap airfares etc. Give quality answers and put your URL as the source. You can do the same on Ask.com and similar sites. This can improve your sarch engine Ranking as well as drive direct Targeted traffic. -Leverage the power of Facebook. FB has become a monster now and it's about to take over Google soon in terms of traffic. The good news is that advertising there is still cheap and is extremely targeted. You can target different age groups, gender, hobbies, interests and much more. Here's their Advertising page: facebookDOTcomSLASHadvertising -Guest posting: Approach high traffic blog owners in your industry and offer to write them free posts in return to them posting your link on their website. This way you get high quality backlinks to your blog and direct traffic. Good luck, Speak soon...
When you have adsense and affiliate links on your pages, ppl are more likely to click adsense. You are cutting yourself short.
Welcome to DP! That was one good-quality bit of text. We don't get many of those on DP these days I think if the O-P follows the things outlined by 1kaday, he will be on target to achieve something.
I absolutely agree, adsense is geared to be more visually appealing to someone reading any blog or forum. Dont offer the option, go with the higher return.
Thanks a lot Tankard! It's my absolute pleasure to provide value to the DP community and to anyone who could benefit from it.
