Not sure how many members deal with this issue but in case any do...here's my problem.

I write a non commercial blog mostly filled w. political commentary, world music reviews and stuff about children & family. I don't usually create hard news material. But every once in a while a great story comes to me. For example, I first broke a story (http://www.richardsilverstein.com/tikun_olam/2005/12/30/steve-jobs-loses-fight-to-demolish-historic-landmark/) about Steve Jobs getting refused permission to tear down a historic home in Woodside, CA.

But no one in the mainstream media who I approached about my story was interested in it.

Then AP picked up the story (independent of me) & now over 100 media sites are running the story.

I'm obviously a neophyte in terms of news blogging. Would anyone know of forums specializing in news blogs? Or would anyone have ideas of how you can get your blog's news material recognized by the mainstream media?
