Getting My Used Up RAM back..

    yeah im running adobe photoshop CS 2 and it says that there is not enough memory (RAM) to complete the task.. What do i have to do to clear up my my used up RAM and get some back.. I already did a disk cleanup..

    I need help ASAP..

    If rebooting and closing all other programs does not do the job the only thing left is to buy more ram.

    I saw that problem now and then with my old computer. 2 gb in this one and I never seen the problem.

    like he said, make sure you don't have 17 other apps going at the same time.
    What are you running for RAM?

    EDIT: Also, try going to edit --> preferences ---> memory & image cache

    there you can specify memory usage - mine for instance is set @ 55% (of 2GB)

    buy more ram would be the easiest thing to do that would still benefit you in the long run.

    i have 632 mb of ram and i still get the same error. it think, there must be atleast 200 Mb of free space in the c drive, check if have that much space.

    i freed some space in the c, and photo shop started runing!:)

    Photoshop needs a lot of RAM to run smoothly. But on systems with less RAM (in your case 632) it then starts using the page file. So if the HDD does not have enough free space you will get a memory error. Ideally keep atleast 2 GB HDD space free while working on photoshop.

    < 1GB & PS is a painful prospect for sure.
    Jeez, it must bre painful using FF on your LT...it sucked down 300MB on me all the time.
