I have sent someone on these forums money and they have ripped me off for $40. I will be posting a lovely full report on the whole thing, first I want my money back. I paid them via PayPal. What should I tell PayPal to get my money back? "Unauthorised Transaction" or "no receipt of digital item" or something else? I am not trying to rip anyone off, they ripped me off and I'm getting my money back. Please help me great DP'ians. Cheers, PN
Raise a dispute and tell them Non Delivery. The seller would then need to prove that they have delivered or they can do right by you at which time.
Well Unauthorised Transaction usually means that you did not sign into Paypal and authorize the transaction. It seems in this case you did authorize it. So don't use that one. Does "no receipt of digital item" describe your scenario better? Is that what happened? If so, then use that one. But don't start off telling them something that is not correct
A dispute with Paypal over a digital product is useless. They will do nothing bt set up a discussion between you and the seller. I found myself in the same situation and got this info from calling Paypal after a dispute that I lost. 1. Never use funds that are in your paypal account. 2. Always pay via an attached credit card. 3. Not a debit card, a credit card. 4. Call the bank that issued your visa/mastercard. 5. File a complaint over the purchase. 6. They will debit paypal for the amount of the transaction. 7. Paypal will inturn debit the sellers account. 8. You've got your cash back! By the way, Paypal is cool with this. They do not want to be the payment police but if visa or mastercard steps in they follow their rule.
Can anyone else agree? As i can only open the dispute once.. Yes "no receipt of digital item", fits. Although I would say anything as they take enough money off me through eBay etc to give me back $40 . That is a very good plan, next time i will do that. However i see loads of thread saying that they received money for an item and then it got taken back out of their accounts (Scammed but the opposite way to me). Thanks for your help guys, Lets fight back!
Definately open a dispute, but be careful as Intangible goods aren;t covered under buyer/seller protection. Go for the NONE delivery - they have to prove they delivered it, by giving a working URL....then I suggest you post the URL on as many FREE sites as possible....only joking. Go for the none delivery - its the best option.
