hello i have a site with some galleries but now i see that in one gallerie i get the AdLinks in Deutch the text in the site is: "Diana Kaufmann Modeling and Acting Experience: Print (Catalogue, Editorial, Advertising), Film, Spokesmodeling, National Commercials, Television, Voice-Overs, Infomericals, Music Videos, Tradeshow, Runway... Currently Residing In: Los Angeles, California, USA Education University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, Bachelor of Science Degree" and all other is a gallery with pics can u tell my why i get links in German, please
My guess would be the "Kaufmann". Sometimes it just takes one word to make Google think the page is in another language. Try using section targeting to hide it from the AdSense crawler. (But you won't see anything right away, you can try copying the page to a different URL first and hiding it and then seeing what kind of ads you get.)
thank you it worked now i get the "View ads about:" search bar in english i guess that this content isnt enough can you give me advice how should i choose what content to put in galleries so it gives me links and its within the rules i mean these are pics of some models and i give the info about them which includes many words that should be able to give me some ad like for modelling, photography and whatever...
No, this is not Deutsch - it is not german. Maybe her Site is german, but the ads not. This is because she is advertising with Adwords in other countries. But the word "Kaufmann" is real german (it means businessman). I also get many english google Ads.
No, you're misunderstanding the problem. The problem is that Google was mistakenly classifying the page as a German page because of one or two German words on the page. You see English ads on your pages because the advertisers for those ads have not limited them to English-only sites. Different issues.
lol Kaufman is the german word for someone who is on the market selling stuff! Dutch version is Koopman, which is my last name! just wanted to tell you all! And yes google has done this to me aswell some times. It picks just a few words and see's that they are not Dutch, English but German, and then it just puts the ad's in german aswell!
This shows how certain terms can become "stop words" of another kind. I had this problem initially on my personal web site because I put the accent as proper on my last name (it's technically "Giguère") and boom I was getting ads in French even when my browser settings weren't set to accept French. In my case, dropping the accent fixed the problem. But section targeting is one way to avoid those nasty stop words. (Before you could only use a JavaScript trick or else put a <span> tag in the middle of the word, neither was great...)
Eric i have just done some section targeting on a site of mine also. How long did it take for google to pick it up ?
Hmmm... I don't remember, actually. This was in the early days of AdSense (it was of my first adsense tips, and I don't honestly remember how often the Mediapartners crawler came back then. These days I think the crawler visits much more often, so it shouldn't take more than a few days at most.
