Getting My A+ Certification

    Hey guys,

I would like to know if any of you have any suggestions on a good book written for acquiring CompTia A+ Certification.

I've been advised by someone who actually has several I.T. certifications that studying for the exam with a good book is sufficient and preferable over taking some course that costs hundreds of dollars.

So, any suggestions? So far, I've run across some material by Michael Myers - is he any good?

Don't waste you time, a reason research show that hardware skill is not necessary to get a IT job

Beg your pardon? A+ certification goes beyond pure hardware skill(s).

Certification isn't a waste of time, and the A+ is a good starting point. I did it and now i am studyiny to become an MCSE. This is a good book an i would also recommend to exam cram pratice exams.

I'm aware of that. I just want to get A+ certification to make my knowledge 'legitimate' to a prospective employer while I work on my degree.

A+ is too entry level and it doesn't proof much. Get a more specific one like RHCT or CCNA if you want to show your qualification
