Getting Money Back From Escrow?

2 months ago I had deposited some cash in Escrow for work a Freelancer was doing for me from getafreelancer.com

The deal was to be completed in 2 weeks, but now its been just over 2 months an d nothing has really been done.

Is it possible since the agreement wasn't met to get my money back out of escrow and nullify the deal?

    Any thoughts?

I would believe so, because the whole escrow service is built around that both parties are happy with the deal and then money is sent.

Yes most definitely if you have not considered that the deal is completed on the part of the freelancer.

Thanks guys, now just to figure out how.

What happened was I think the freelancer saw afterwards the project was quite bigger than he anticipated so I think he'll be happy also to let this one go.

It would all depends on the terms which were agreed prior to the signing of the contract for the project. Generally, the contractor is just there to do the job and that's pretty much it, as the owner you should have full rights to the project once it is completed.

As to getting your money back from escrow, just contact the escrow company and explain the situation, I would believe that as long as the project is not completed the contractor would not have the money and it is with the escrow company.

What was the response from the company that you deposited the escrow with? Are you bringing the question to the forums because they were refusing to assist you?
