I'm looking to get some mods for one of my forums, the problem is that it doesn't make money and I can't pay. Are there other ways to attract mods to your forums, exchange for textlinks, banners, etc? Has anybody done this? thanks, - R
Pick the cream of the crop from your own member base. They will already know the rules and have a good feel for the community. Also, promoting from within increases moral, and gives regular users hope for promotion (and therefore can result in higher quality posts). If your member base sees that you are outsourcing, they may just take their posts elsewhere... If your members are not worthy of promotion, then heh, maybe you've chosen the wrong topic _________ Seriously though, promote from within when possible. Set up a few application questions if you can't spot who is worthy, then pick from the submissions. When you promote ANYONE say it is on a trial basis and that their performance will be evaluated every few months. This will give you a chance to oust anyone not worthy with the least amount of hurt feelings. Make sure one of the questions is past experience, you can then check references.
