Google may or may not be the biggest search engine of all the search engines but for most web sites, Google refers more traffic than any other search engine. So it's imperative that your site is indexed in Google.

With having a reach to more than 100 million searches performed daily it makes sense that why people give more importance to Google than to any other search engine while trying to rank high in them.

But for ranking high your website must be listed under a particular search engine. Here in this article I will tell you how you can get listed in Google by following any of the three simple steps.

    1. Submit your website directly to Google

This is the most common and the simplest way of getting your site listed in Google what you have to do is just tell Google that your site exists and Google will find you. Just go to http://www.google.com/addurl.html and submit your website to Google however this submission can't guarantee you inclusion.

It is also believed by many of the experts that Google gives more importance to a site that Google finds on its own. Well this may be or may not be true.

    2. Get Listed in The Major Directories

Google is one of the major search engines and it keeps crawling the major directories frequently so if you get your site listed in one of the major directories like: Yahoo, Dmoz or Looksmart then it will automatically find you following the link from the directories.

    3. Get lots of high quality incoming links

This is the best way to get listed in Google or in any other search engine. The strategy is simple and straight just get lots of high quality incoming to your site and get listed in Google much quicker. This is the most easiest way of getting links to your site.

The major advantage of this is that you can list all of your pages in very small amount time if your inner linking structure is correct. I personally emphasize on this because I don't have enough time to submit my hundreds of pages to each search engine while knowing that submitting only a single page per site per day is under the search engine's guidelines and exceeding this amount can be seen as spam.

    Conclusion

If you want to get listed in Google or in any other search engine more quickly then ever then the best thing you can do is just get lots of high quality links to your website and just watch how your whole site gets listed in Google at a pace that you never expected.

There are many that say doing a manual submission to google will slow the process down. The speed that you add link can also effect you site. I have seen sites go to the sandbox when links have been added to quickly.

Guys...The WORST thing is to do is to submit ur url to google. pls DONT DO this - its a BIG mistake. I dunno abt u but it can take upto bloody 4 weeks to get listed this way. I can tell u of an easier way - Backlink ur website to a PR5 or above website - some communities for instance! And see your site listed on google within 24 hours - No trick !!

And google weighs sites that get listed this way more ranked thatn ones those are submitted the "traditinal" way.

You have told some basic points which is great but these things cannot gurantee that your site will be listed in Google in 7 days. Moreover, it may take even more than seven days to be get listed in major directories. And there are 100s of other factors that will effect that your site will be included in Google or not.

    Just my 2 cents.

There are legal ways to get indexed by google in under 24 hours.
It is just a matter of creativity, guys... Read more online outside DP too..

And directories are still the best way to get links...

Well... I'm not sure of that. In fact I'm pretty sure that putting a google sitemap.xml file on your site and setting it up with Google's service will get you listed much faster than directories will.

In fact I'm certain of it. Last year www.scarn.com wasn't listed at all. That site is my son's site, with a grand total of 12 users. No google listing, no page rank (not 0 page rank... none), and wasn't crawled by anything.

As a test I put the google xml sitemap on that site an in 3 days he was listed, in 2 weeks he had a page rank of 3 and now for a search of Scarn, or Scarred lands, he comes up near the top. I've done nothing to improve that site except content and the sitemap.xml.

You will also notice that Scarred Lands and Scarn are fairly large interest areas (or use to be) for the Dungeons and Dragons game.

Directories are fine, ... I guess. Really depends on which one.

Ya I agree and you should check that I also said that these are some of the factors that can get you listed sooner. There are lots of other methods also like getting listed in 100's of directories. Getting links from frequently crawled forums and etc. When we are talking about Google these are only some factors there are a lot out there.

Sitemaps help Google to crawel your website in a better and optimized way. But again it really depends on Google when it thinks that your site should be included in Google Index. There is not single way... it has to be collective efforts to get your site listed in Google. Keep working on getting as many as quality links you can and your site will get better ranking for sure.
