Bug Getting Likes A Waste Right Now. Will It Change?

Okay, been here a long time..... Still dont have 3 likes..... and dont see the point of this likes system. I've done all legit business on DP with more than 3 iTrader before the change........ and now........with the changes......... all I see getting likes are the internet's social failures who make some negative response / rant aimed at your serious forum member's suggetions.

AFter this post, wait and watch. Lol Somebody will say some moronic thing that they would NEVER say to someone's face and the geek squad backs them with 3 more likes.

Also, maybe it's just me but has anyone else noticed the pitiful posts that are flooding forums now? Then a post 'trying' to help when it's obvious there's scheming going on.... If 3 of those members from certain groups get 3 likes, whole cliques shall evolve

It's interesting to watch in that theory but anyhow...

I was all for the idea of 'trying' and tried to make a post sharing valuable site, I've found good for REAL business. I find it insulting that i got no likes but these computer thugs get likes for tough talk?

Good Luck Digital Point . But seriously, monitor what's going on. I doubt those guys you're building with will build you any real business.

Any business of what? Requiring 3 likes to get into an area of the site that we make a grand total of $0 from? lol That would be a pretty silly business model if that's what it was. :)

Feel free to have your opinion. At the end of the day you use this forum to make money. wrong or right? That classifies it as a business. wrong or right? You might want to sell the brand in the future? Right........ these are all factors of business unless you're just running this out of the pure goodness of your heart... and love... for helping other people............. it's business.

I make sales here and I buy ads on this forum ........... so for me to say anything that would damage my resource would be stupid.................. i'm just making a point but it's obvious you're extreme confidence in your decision is not to be swayed. Good luck.

Just once again, 'trying' to give an opinion .

I suppose technically... although it's more about covering server costs than anything. We most *definitely* aren't maximizing it as far as monetizing it. It's more a hobby than a business, that's for certain.

    Absolutely not.

You're avoiding the truth. Hobby or not It's a business .

And everyone has a selling point. The only people that dont are not found on this forum or any other.

They are living life far from a computer and counting gold bars... living in the 3 room back behind 2 palladium and steel minted, secure doors.

Well pretty sure there is no price even 1000x what it's worth that would make me consider selling it. So sure, maybe technically there would be a price, but it would be something ridiculous... Like upwards of $10B, so... For all practical purposes, no.

There is a fundamental flaw in your logic.

    itrader =/ likes

And if you want to talk about the new changes, I actually think the quality of the discussions have improved significantly. I don't know what planet you live on if you think the opposite has occurred. Tbh it all just sounds like a bunch of sour grapes and the only reason you posted this was to get a like so you can use the BST forums. Mission accomplished OP. Some idiot took the bait.

I agree. Conversation has improved. It's even made me want to improve my conversations.
Before people whine, they should read the other threads about the same topic(s). Then maybe they would understand it a little better. BUT, like you said, most are just trying to get likes by starting the threads and whining.
It's easier now to get into the BST, as soon as the long term members get over their whining and go get the likes they need, it won't be that much of an issue any more. Just for the n00bies and they have no complaint either because it is faster for them now as long as they contribute.

^ I am exactly the same. The quality of my posts declined as the posts on DP did. Reading some of the replies and nonsensical rubbish was like hitting your head against the wall but I am more motivated to contribute to the forum again like I did when I first started using the forum it's like its gone full circle.

Understood. But still a possibility. A man without a selling price is a man without a business.

As for everyone elses replies, may'be we are reading different forums.

I read like 10 - 12 posts and the questions were seemingly poor attempts to get likes by answering a question... likely the same person or a friend, would answer something very simple to look helpful.

The writing styles were the same and coincidentally they were answered by people obviously of linked origins regionally.

Just my theory behind the repetitive posts style. Looked like a scheme in the works.

Well yeah... obviously spammers/scammers aren't too bright to begin with. They would rather do stuff the hard way than just do stuff the easy way that is viable for the long term. They scam people to make $20 once, vs. do something useful and make a lot more in the long term. Same deal with Likes... they will spend more time trying to get around the system and probably get banned in the process than it would be to just do it "right". lol They are silly really... :)

I mean there's probably close to 50 users that have been banned so far for trying to trade likes. lol

At the very *least* the idiotic threads are far less idiotic now than they were before... I mean before people starting stupid threads like, "What's your favorite color?", "Do you like water?", "Do you like collecting stamps?", etc... Literally... I can't even count how many threads I've deleted like that. At least now we get far less of the SUPER idiotic threads, because their 25 posts of gibberish do them no good any longer.
