I think only non profit sites are allowed. But still yahoo follow that site for some time and if they find that it's really non profit then only it may add it. Otherwise we all would have start a site as non profit basis and after getting listed turn it into profit base.
I'm trying to get a few non-profit sites (with no ads at all) into Yahoo for a couple of years now, with no success whatsoever.
Some parts of Yahoo get updated more frequently than others. About 9 years ago I first tried submitting a nonprofit website to Yahoo, long before they started charging. I resubmitted several times over a period of years, but the site never did get listed. No other sites have been added to the category during those years, either. Around the same time I also submitted a few other sites that I was not personally interested in (boring stuff, such as official city sites and websites for daily newspapers), and a couple of them got listed. They are still there, with the exact same descriptions I submitted.
I got in for free, but only once anyway, it didnt helped much, yahoo did not even crawl fully that site and no traffic from yahoo...while google crawled the site 100% and also sending traffic
I read somewhere on this forum that DMOZ doesn't like to list sites with ads on them. I imagine they mean like more than 3 ads per page or even a single pop-up but who knows with those guys. They delist sites for shoddy reason too but... What im asking is does Yahoo seem to follow that same pattern? Not listing sites because it has a popunder ad? I guess for me im going to HAVE to get listed in the directory because my site is almost 3 months old and doesn't even rank #1 for it's own domain name (with the .com taken off) in Yahoo search. (yet shows thousands of backlinks in Yahoo). It's #3 but still....
I had a noncommercial one listed. But it was in an obscure category, and the traffic was negligible. I'm talking no more than 1 or 2 referrals a month, if I'm lucky. The site itself is not unpopular. It's not even a direct link, so Yahoo is not even on my list of directories that I will submit a new site to.
Yeah Bro, Yahoo directory submission is totally free.If you wanna know about it then PM me.I submitted many websites in yahoo directories.
I couldn't find the free submission ether only looked for a min. Yahoo is about dead anyway so I don't spend to much time on them.
