Hi there, I have built a new site 2 months ago and started building links (a few quality pr4-5 links) for the site. My site has only 10 pages and Google has indexed all of the pages (some in supplementary though). Now I have realized that my site is ranking high for some less competitive keywords (with approximately 4xx,xxx competitiion). What should I do now to get a higher ranking in some more competitive keywords? Building more content? building inbound links? Getting more traffic (does it matter)? What other thing is needed to get high ranking in search engine? Any idea would be appreciated.
Yup! you have to build Links... But you must fix first your suplimmental pages, kindly review again your site infrastructure then continue SEO it. Goodluck!
Continue building links and review your site time to time. For supplemental results, you must reword every content found in your site that appear on the supplemental results.
Yup, you are on the right track. Maybe add an rss feed, a mailing list, some link exchanges, add a news section to the website
You should know all these 1. Know how to analyze a site for key factors - links, anchor text, content, etc. 2. Know how to tweak a site to effectively present itself as a good candidate for ranking on a specific term. 3. Know the basics of link building - neighbourhoods, anchor text, etc 4. Know the basics of organizing links and content to be helpful to both people and search engines. 5. Know how to make the content in non-spiderable media like images, sounds, flash, AJAX and so forth available, or to be able to compensate for it. 6. Know how to tweak content and structure (headers, etc) to best present a site to a search engine and a visitor. 7. Be aware of all the major search engines, their demographics and idiosyncrasies. Also be aware of what they have to offer outside of search, and what the connections between the two are. All the best
They mentioned almost everything. I guess I just have to advice you to continue what you are doing and don't stop. SEO is very fast changing industry so never stop learning. Keep us posted if you need more help or a report on the progress of your site. Keep it up!
