getting indexed by MSN live and yahoo?

In the last couple of months I've built a couple very large websites. Google seems to have no problem indexing them very well, however I can't get MSN live to index past the homepage, nor can I get Yahoo to past the second level.

My site is built on a state -> county -> city level linking scheme. However, I've made sure to have good cross linking so that literally every page is no more than 3 clicks away from the homepage.

I've submitted sitemaps to MSN live and Yahoo as well.

Some of the pages are large in size however (75k)... could this be causing an issue?

Anyway, any help would be great cause I'm starting to get frustrated!

i think it's not related with the sitemap size. in my experience, backlinks are the most important criteria for the indexing speed.

one of my large sites did not indexed like you mentioned. when i get more backlinks for that web site, its indexed pages has increased. it's currently over 50k indexed pages

I suggest you wait a little longer, my site took more than a month to get index in MSN and then some more time to appear on the serps. with yahoo, I have some pages on the serps, others do not appear. Nevertheless, it will do no harm to get some good quality back links.
