getting in trouble for nothing?

Why did i get an infraction for this?

the post was "I got payment, thanks"
The guy wanted us to report if we got payment so others know he was serious. Everyone replied when they got payment, did they get in trouble too?

    thats messed up.

Kinda chases away members when they get in trouble for nothing right?

That infraction report says your post had no value, and that indeed was the reason.
If you wanted to let the seller know that you got the payment you should have used the Private message feature.

It is the best example for the question- why you should always prefer to use common sense before posting?

If the seller wanted to show that he is serious he could have found thousand ways to do it. But, honestly this was one the worst way to show it, that too on buyers expense ;)...

Well i hope everyone else got in trouble for the same exact thing. Common sense would say "Why would i want to spam to get a post count" There is no reason to spam to get a post count. I was way over the required post counts to do things long time ago.

I have read somewhere on this forum, that if your reply is shorter than thread's title, consider it pypc kinda post.

yeah but this is really silly to be getting in trouble for. I obviously wasn't spamming to get a higher post count which is what these type of rules are usually created to protect the forum against.

A warning or something simple as the post might of been better. This really just makes me think less of this place.

I don't want to feel like im watching on egg shells here every time i post anything or even login.

PM the OP's in threads when you buy, sell, etc is a lot better than posting a short line about the sale.

I am enjoying pm'ing people now instead of asking questions, etc on the threads.

    It's more of a punishment i'd say.

It shows me that my membership here isn't really appreciated.

i did Pm the guy and he asked me to do that. Sorry. I didn't mean to be a bad member.

    How is it a punishment??
Man nobody, and I mean Nobody would ever know that you got an infraction, if and only if you dont create a thread about it.

It works as simple as - you got an infraction, learn, do not repeat the mistake and move on. No one would ever know that you got an infraction.

But if you want, you can make it work like - You got an infraction, leave whatever you were doing, just make a thread about it, Cry, weep, shout, or whatever you can with all your might, and let the whole DP know it, and dont move on until 1) you get another infraction 2) lot of bad reputation point deduction 3) get your thread closed.

Now it all depends on you, good luck, I am done with this thread. :)

Okay there is no reason to be a jerk.

From what I understand an infraction is a point or something and a couple of them removes posting and other privileges right? And I don't feel that something this small should be punished.

Maybe a verbal/text warning might of been better since I wasn't just spamming and wasn't aware that we couldn't freely post.

Sounds like your infraction should be reversed. The OP asked everyone to post when they got payment so he could build trust with members here and I see nothing wrong with that. Sending a PM would defeat the purpose, which was to show publicly that the OP is trustworthy.

You did nothing wrong. Again, it should be reversed, if anyone should get an infraction in this situation it's the OP for asking members to do something that could get them an infraction by a forum leader who clearly did not read the thread and just hit a button instead.

Oh and that's because they "don't have the time" then don't be on the team. ;)

I had an infraction reversed because it was given to me because someone else bumped one of my old threads. I have a very CLEAR idea what I am talking about, Rob.

BTW, his post had no value? When it was made to instill trust in the OP by forum members. I think that has a lot of value.

My bad, I thought we were talking about something else. Something not invloving you.

Good call! I don't like the i-trader thing anyway. I feel much better after reading copy and paste BS from new members whom with I have no history.

Please, this is an infraction....it's like practice!

I received an infraction at a forum I joined a few days ago. So I went and read the forum's rules and FAQ. Apparently words like "suck" and "crap" are not permitted. You can't even write "a**" (with asterixes) Now I find that to be a bit extreme but I'll do my best to abide by the rules. And if I want a forum I can say "crap" and "suck" on, I'll come here. :p

I guess I don't care because I dont have tocome here. There are tons of other web master forums who's moderators do not have an unlimited amount of free time to warn/punish members for little tiny things.

I hope it expires, but once again it doesnt really matter.
