Getting hundreds of Azoogle clicks, but no conversion?

I own a large music site, that gets 30,000+ unique visitors per day. I mostly run CPM and YPN....YPN targeting has been horrible since the launch of Panama, so my ads are all over. So I thought I would experiment with CPA....I know my demographic so I tried azoogle and maxbounty, and signed up for some ringtone campaigns that had been converting.

In a couple hours I had hundreds of clicks, but not one conversion. So my problem is not getting the traffic, I can drive my own traffic, but I guess I need my own landing page? would that be the consensus from those on this board?

My other question would be, I'm not sure I want to create my own landing page..why couldn't I somehow sell YPN like text ads to people on this forum?

    what do you think?

Why would you need your own landing page? It's just adding another step in the chain to a conversion.

I thought people were saying that custom landing pages was far better than using the standard pages....guess I am confused? I think I understand now that I think about it...if I was using adwords, I'd have my own landing page, but I'd still have to drive the traffic to the affiliate links...as it is now, I don't need a landing page...since I am driving the traffic from my own site...guess, then I really don't understand how I can have 132 clicks but not one conversion...that sucks!

how are you linking? Just a blind text ad or are you using the creatives?

You are correct landing page is not necessary but you can do a presell page to push them thru this may help with conversions... depends on what offers you are putting infront of your visitors.

Yeah this would be my advice. The problem you have right now is you are just getting lookers for the most part. People are not committed to an action necessarily.

You might also look for some different creatives that might be more of a call to action than just an interesting ad that people might click on.

bk, you just have to test and do a lot of testing. Now you have to find a product or service that your audience is willing to sign up for or buy.

CPA is very different from just clicking on Yahoo or Google Ads

Some offers don't support all carriers

Yeah you may have to target your ad call up to a particular region as if it was site-targeted like adwords can be.

How are users getting to those landing pages? For example it might be very wise for you to maybe include a "download <song name> ringtone" text link under each of you're songs listed on the site. Of course this link would take them directly to a landing page. I think this would be the best way if you were going about CPA on a music site. Another thing to remember is to mask you're affiliate url's from spiders. Use tinyurl or build you're own system. ;) PM me if you have any more questions.
