How do I go about finding an IP range in Buenos Aires where I am getting spammed. The spam is coming from multiple sites and I want to ban the IP, can anyone out there help?

To find owners of IP addresses use: http://www.showmyip.com/

But how do you know its buenos aires if you dont have the ip address?

You cannot rely on the whois of domain records as many spammers simply spoof the email address which is surprisingly easy to do. If you email the domain owner, he will probably be suprised that you are getting spam from their domain.

I am guessing that you would receive the emails and the emails would contain email headers.

The ip adress will be in the headers. Here is a link to how to check your email headers.
    http://www.123marbella.net/support/spam-and-antivirus-faq.html#headers1

Then you simply add the ip addresses/ranges into your firewall or ask your host to do it for you, that will eliminate any mail originating from the offending ip/servers.

Also lodge a complaint at www.spamcop.net and email all the tech admin for the ip ranges.

This may reduce the amount of spam but wont stop it, many spammers use proxies, zombies or bots and are pretty organised so dont try and beat them, just use high quality spam software.
