This may be so, yet the higher the PR the higher the Rankings. The higher rankings the more traffic. And if your site converts well, the more traffic the more money.
That is not true. PR that comes from non-relevant sites will do nothing for your rankings. Far too many people waste money buying non-related links thinking that is will help them rank better - it won't.
I absolutely agree with you. PR doesn't always mean traffic... but there are a lot of think you could do when you have high PR. Asking for links, for examples, is easier if you have high PR.
It depends on the industry and the trust of the links. Any new SEO domain will have a much more difficult time ranking quickly than a site about fred the talking dog.
Yes--I go along with you. Get some 3 PR5, 3 PR6 and 4 PR7 links from 10 domains and if your site is a blog --you will get PR7. If other site--it will be PR6. It does not matter how many backlinks you got ---for PR quality (PR) of backlinks are most important. I saw a PR8 blog with just 28 backlinks and a PR7 site with just 5 backlinks. SERPs is another matter altogether though --you will need loads of links for it.
I got a PR5 for my directory with very little effort, I did have about a thousand backlinks though, 4-5 good PR6 links would do it.
What has been going on with MSN not showing backlinks? I know this is kind of off topic, but the forum was kind of heading that way. As slow as Google is updating, what would we do without Yahoo? If they pull their plug we won't be able to play net detective with our competition.
