Getting forum members to participate

    Hi Guys

Just over a week ago I acquired a new domain name and set up a forum.

I underestimated the type-in traffic. Currently, within the first week I get around 10 unique people signing up at the forum. I already have 70+ registered users.

Although 2 or 3 members are posting, I would like to have some advice on getting other to participate actively.

    Any ideas?

    The webiste is CasinoDiscussions.com

    Thanks

Start a provocative topic related to your niche on your forum, and hit very hard on something or someone in your niche. It worked for me on my forum, maybe it'll work for you too.

Ads should help to generate visit, thus generate posts.

I had a quick look at your site and if I was looking to post there I would be put off by the number of 'Never's. I agree with RonSilver. Put at least one provocative (but easy to respond to) post in each section so it appears more active. Looks like a good site though - I would be happy to join but I know absolutely nothing about casinos so I wouldn't be much help!

That fast by getting that amount of signup during first week.
    Keep up the good work.
To get member actively posting in forum, you should organize some contest such as the highest poster of the month get $1000 etc

Well the way to get conversation flowing is have some conversations already set up, I would pay a few people to create a bunch of high quality topics and posts then start promoting the forum.

It looks a good forum but there is way to many sub forums like on Afrian casinos, there is like 50 sub sections.

There first problem this causes is that it makes a long list in the forum section of sub forums.

Secondly it makes it look empty, if there is only 1 post in each section then it'll look empty, but if them 50 posts are in a long list it'll look much fuller, even though there is no more posts.

    Hope it helped.
