Getting expired domain names from Name.com - Explained for newbies :)

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by kingofking, Dec 14, 2013.

    Go to https://www.name.com/expired_domains.php

Select “all” in TLD if you want all the TLD expired domains to be listed or if you are interested only in checking for “.com” domains, then select “com” in TLD and click on Advanced Search to pull maximum number of domains i.e. 1000 domains and click on “Apply”

Once refreshed, the page will display 1000 domains that are going to expire.

Now, you need to check the PR and statistics of all the 1000 domains. To do that, follow these steps which do not require you to invest anything.

    · Hit CTRL+A (to select the entire page) and hit CTRL+C to copy all the selected elements.

    · Now, you need only the domain names to be scrapped from the web page. To do that, go to http://dncleaner.com/ or http://www.nima.co/domain-tools/domain-cleaner/ and paste the copied content into the text box provided and process the data.

    · Once done, it will scrap you only the domain names for you.

    · You now have 1000 domains which are going to expire. The next step is to check the pagerank of all the 1000 domains.

    · If you are aware of any bulk PR checker tools, use that. Else you can download the bulk PR checker tool here - > http://download.cnet.com/1-Bulk-PageRank-Checker/3000-2648_4-10830207.html and you can check 200 domains in a single run using the free version.

    · This software lists you the domains PR wise and if you are interested in PR3+ domains, you can just check only the domains listed under PR3 or more.

    · Hardly, it will list 3 to 5 domains which you can check manually using several tools like http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/, http://www.cekpr.com/,https://ahrefs.com/, http://www.majesticseo.com/ and you can save the domain list for buying.

Now, you have the PR domains which satisfy your requirements. Do you find the price listed at name.com costlier? Do not worry. The domain's price listed drops every day.

When the domains get listed on day-1, it would cost you $199. On day2, if no one picks the domain, it would drop to $129 and on the third day to $79, fourth day to $39.99 and to $19.99 and finally it gets to $11.99 on the sixth day.

So, scrap the domain names and find your preferred PR domains. If you are lucky enough, you can pick it for the expected price.

The domains are refreshed in name.com at around 12 – 1 AM EST. (I am not sure on this. need to confirm). So, try to buy the domains as soon as the page gets refreshed.

Try this and I am sure you will find some good quality expired domains. Also, please post for any questions you may have so that we can have a discussion on it.

Thanks for that wonderful explanation of expired domains.

I wish you had it availabe in a PDF.

I'm not a newbie but, at times, feel like one.

Here ya go. I simply copied the post into Word then saved it as a PDF. I put kingofking's avatar and link at the end.

    * Note: the file was too large to upload directly, so added it to my Dropbox account. That's where the following link takes you. *

Thanks you very much kingofking. The information was quite helpful.

    But can you also explain
    - What is difference between expiring and deleted domain? (Which are the two category I found on website u suggested)
    - How long it will take to get both domain registered on your name?
    - And what is the process?

I thing all these things will be helpful for the newbies like me.
You can also post the links if the answer of above questions is already given in any of the existing threads.

    Thanks
