Getting error in sitemap - Urgent Help Needed

    hello all

    my sitemap was working correctely till yesterday and now i suddenely got one error
    i tried everything but nothing helped me
    can any one pls help me how to solve this ?

    Re-submite your site map to Google and update it.

    RE-submit it and why your sitemap is topicsitemap.xml?should it be sitemap.xml?

    <lastmod> tag is optional tag that Identifies the time that the corresponding Sitemap file was modified. It does not correspond to the time that any of the pages listed in that Sitemap were changed.

    If you remove that tag you can overcome with the problem..and if you don't want to remove it,just check for the lastmod date format is it w3c validated or not..cause <lastmod> tag should be in W3C Datetime format.

    Have you tried creating sitemap using xml-sitemaps website, it works great. I have created lot of maps through this site and all are working well.

    Great advice. That is the best way to go. I tried about 8 different sitemaps until I found the right one :)

    No dear..I mean to say..just make different sitemaps of your website different sections like blog, forum, etc and then submit these to webmaster tools. This will give ease to crawlers to recognize your all pages...

    remove date element from sitemap and upload it and resubmit. Problem will be solved.:)
