I have almost 2000 friend on my facebook page. But launched a new "fan" page for business (more flexibility, FBML etc.) and want to know best way to get current friends alerted to my new page. Would it be wise to just DELETE the page with 2000 friends?

Well you can post it on your older page and alert them that u have a new page. Its not wise to delete before u have people on new page.

Yes this is a very good option. However you can only use when the pop up comes for sending the invites. Also if you have a group, you can use this option when the inviting friends page shows up.

For your earlier question, better to post a redirect link on your old fan page and make sure all the 2000 friends have been added in the new page, then you can go ahead and delete the page.

You don't need to delete the page..
you can just change the name of the page to the name you want or just redirect them to your new page by use of "wall post"
