Hi there, Once again calling on the DP collective knowledge. I'd love to hear your thoughts about how to get people to register for a site. We have a really great site which has customised local event suggestions, cool competitions and social features for registered members. We're also getting pretty decent traffic in the neighbourhood of 1500-3000 uniques per day. But conversion rates to registered users are so low and I'm trying to brainstorm new ways to get people interested in signing up for the site. How do you get conversions for a free registration process? It should be easier than converting a sale, right? Any ideas??
Three words. Register for download. If you have something people want to download, pdf, mp3, clip or something, then ensure that they have to register to download it. Then ensures a couple of things. 1. Less BW used 2. Ensures signups for people you actually want on your site
