Getting charged (but not arrested)

Last night i was put in the back of a cop car for 45 minutes for being "drunk and disorderly". The police ended up just dropping me off at my house and i didn't receive any papers or anything saying i would be charged for anything. I'm wondering if there's anyway i could still get in trouble for this situation (like they send the papers in the mail or something) or if i should stop worrying about it.

Here where we live that means they felt sorry for you and you obviously weren't being beligerant therefor you were a good candidate for a ride home. At least you weren't a good candidate for a telephone book and nightstick.

I don't imagine you'll hear about it again unless you end up in more trouble.

well i don't think they felt sorry for me, since the reason they put me in the back of their car in the first place i believe was for me flicking them off or doing something to that extent. And i probably was being beligerent in the beginning, but i think i got better and was more respectful at the end. So i don't think it was just a friendly car ride home. From my understanding they would have given me the ticket before dropping me off if i was going to get in trouble. But i want to be sure they can't/won't send me a ticket in the mail or soemthing.

I doubt they will. They'd have to hand you papers direct and physically touch you to arrest you.

Not worth the paperwork or the court appearence is on target.

The more respectful attitude towards the end may have also helped them decide.

I agree you pretty much got a "get out jail" free pass on this one.
