Hello all, I've been upping my game recently on one of my Blogs and its social media marketing strategy. Doing near enough the same, such as posting articles at varied times, adding images and conversing with followers and friends. But it seems that my Twitter following has grown much stronger and better than my Facebook following. Has anybody got any tips as to what they do differently between their Facebook and Marketing campaigns??
I have been doing social network exchanges and buying cheap Twitter followers where I can. I have gotten fair results with my promoting and will start "Tweeting" more advertising offers for my sites. Many people who are on Twitter will follow more easily than a Facebook member will befriend someone. You just have to put more effort into Facebook than Twitter.
On Facebook, try to encourage people to like, comment on, and share your posts. These actions will increase the reach of that individual post, but they will also increase the reach of future posts due to Facebook's algorithms.
I think Moola Mails is right, Twitter is easier because all you need to do there is follow and post, while on facebook it is more difficult to get people to befriend anyone. However! They will just as easily like pages as they would follow twitter, especially if they have something to gain from it, so on Facebook the best marketing method to get more LIKEs ona page is to offer them some prize for sharing, like-ing and commenting on the page.
I think what matters more than the amount of traffic is the traffic that converts... Does Twitter trafiic conver for you guys?
The Social Media platform the both Twitter as well as the Facebook five the desired results. The traffic and reach poin to the user can be the great point from the social media sites.
Twitter is more of a mobile platform. Such as if you want to interact with users the best way to think about them is with mobile capabilities whereas Facebook can be done on desktop/laptop etc. Keep that in mind when trying to market to either
Twitter users are more likely to click your links and visit your blog but I usually have better conversation ratio using facebook advertising. Anyway combining them will give you the best result.
I seem to be the other way round, i get more clicks on Facebook, but much better conversion from Twitter
I also find facebook a bit of a struggle, to me it seems like you have to put a lot more hard work into facebook compared to twitter and I still don't get even close to the amount of people subscribing.
If you think about how both sites originated, people were more concerned with who they were 'friends' with than who they followed on twitter. It is probable that simply having to press 'add friend' is much more to real life than following someone. I have found the same thing with my social media in that it is much easier to get Twitter followers than friends on Facebook. Also twitter etiquette is to follow people who follow you so that makes it SO much easier to get followers! I would agree that much more effort needs to go into facebook and getting people to 'like' posts and such is a step in the right direction.....
p.s in terms of different tactics, I would tweet much more than updating statuses on facebook but that is simply because as MarkIslander said, Twitter is instant. Both Facebook and Twitter serve two different purposes.
Getting people to 'Share' your content is the key to this, this is the best way to reach a much larger audience
One of the reason why I created a Twitter account is that I was told that it s updated much faster than of facebook. Is that true?
