Nobody will get banned if they didn't break the rules and competitive members wont complain if no rules have been broken.

The banning is controlled by the Admins but members can report posts that are against the rules. Say I personally insult you on a thread by calling you a moron or whatever - you can click the little report button [IMG] and let the mods know you have been personally attacked by me. I'll not get banned but will receive an infraction, get enough of these then I'll face a ban.

Agreed, if you don't break the rules or try to scam someone you will not get banned. So read the rules and stick to them and you should have no problem.

I don't think you will get banned for bumping thread per se, but rather you will receive an infraction, which obviously can lead to being banned...

In addition to the FAQ be sure to read the infraction sticky in Suggestions and Feedback, the sticky at the head of Solicitations and Announcements, and the stickies in buy, sell, and trade. All help illustrate the type of posts that fail to meet the standards set forth in the posting guidelines.

If it is racist comments and they upset you forward the PM to a mod and make them aware.

The infraction for bumping threads is one fraught with controversy, probably better to make a new thread IMO than get an infraction for bumping an old one. All the infractions I have received for thread bumping have been for legitimate announcements of info relating to the thread but I still got them.

As the infraction lasts 3 months most peeps get nailed by the "totting up" procedure as far as I can see.

No point in arguing though as this place has it's rules and they stick to them too. It's how I would run a big forum, except I would revise a few things to make sure that the decent members don't get nailed for petty offences, but that's just my opinion on it.

Warnings are yellow in colour and do not have any point, red infraction have minimum of one point. And serious mistake can get you an infraction of higher points.
As far as I know, 10 infarction will get a member banned from DP.
