Getting backlinks from unrelated sites

Is it worth to get backlinks from unrelated sites ?

I am running a weight loss pills review site at http://www.belmos.com. If i get backlinks from sites from unrelated sites, it will increase my rankings ?

 

It won't increase very hard. That's why you will target related sites. Backlinks from unrelated sites will gain you some traffic but doens't increase your Alexa or Google ranking.

 

Hello, Its better that you should go for related websites and look for themed links. Relate your Link according to Anchor Text. This will help you in gaining High Ranking very Fast. Hope that Helped..

 

if you are getting some high quality backlinks from any general website especially from high PR website, go and get those high PR backlinks. Those might help you in rankings.

 

Absolutely. In my experience unrelated links are almost as good as related links.
10% less powerful maybe... nothing to worry too much about.

 

There is no such thing as a bad backlink IMO except a paid one if you get caught buying them, but even then Google tends to penalize the seller. The indirectly penalize the buyer by devaluing the link. You continue to pay but don't realize you're gettin no juice. A backlink will either help or do nothing for you. A backlink will almost never hurt your rankings.

So yes... even backlinks from unrelated sites are good... May not be as good for Google rankings as a relevant page, but for other engines less obsessed w/ relevance they are pretty much equal to a link from a relevant page.

The link text used to link to your site is more important than the page containing the link being relevant IMO.

Unrelated backlinks also would do wel i think so

 

Most of the time unrelated backlinks are easier and quicker to build than related ones, so when you weigh it up I dont think the difference is very much.

 

from the point of SEO google does not like sites pointing to non related sites.It's preferable to link to related using the main keyword.

 

may be you did some link building with unrelated sites.

 

Definitely it helps. Get those backlinks if it has a good PR. In my exp. it really works.

 

Any link pointing to your site is helpful as long as its not from a warez/hate/porn/etc type of site. That being said, it's always better to get related links that non-related links, but they do help your traffic, PR and search engine ranking.
