Hi, I have a site, used to have a page rank of 4, now it is 0. I think it was naughty and sold links or something. Anyway I then bought the site and it ranks very well. But still displays pr0, is there anyway to get this back? I don't intend to use it to sell links but when I sell the site in a few months or so it would be nice to have it. Any ideas?
If you are using dedicated server and previously under observation of google for x reason then hide whois and change host.My clients websites was facing same problem before, now after these changes its working fine.
the only way to get it back is to wait for the next official PR update...while waiting, you might want to build up more links to your site so that you will expect more of a good result.
If you have paid links in your site then remove them. May be you need to do a re-inclusion request google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35843 And wait for the next update.
Building more incoming links is important. If you wish to grow the site and improve its rankings, you should keep getting new links in over time. And don't worry about the PR, unless you plan to sell ads again.
well if u have a high pr it makes yours site look better and it is a lot easier to buy and sell advertisement. having a pr 0 and good rank is not as good as having a pr 4 site and good rank it all matters about if u want to spend the time or not
You should continue to build high quality backlinks, you are ranking well in the serp that's a good thing, your pr may be back at the next update, you should probably wait until your site regains it's pr before you sell it.
Better put a better content to your site, then even if you get few but really good and strong PR backlink, you will surely gain your PR.
But you still wait for the next PR update, in order for the new PageRank to show (if it is not zero again).
Remove the links that were sold and gain some quality links back and slowly you will get back your pr.
Write a nice email to google, explaining that you have abide with the google guidelines, and there's no trace of link selling : ))
You can see what I wrote to Google to claim back your PageRank I was in the same situation as you several months ago.
