    Good day,

How do the members of DP go about coming up with an idea for a business? I don't mean freelance style stuff such as writing or graphic design.

How do you come up with an idea about what or where to eat? How do you come up with an idea about what you want to do this weekend?

Seriously, if you need someone else to give you "an idea" about what business to start, you probably shouldn't do it.

    Do like I do.

Everywhere I go, everything I do, everything I see, I always look to see if there is a market there. I look at everything with business in mind. Doing this I come up with new business idea's almost everyday.

My problem isn't coming up with a business idea, it's not getting sidetracked by all of my idea's.

    Here's exactly what I do:

In life, I tend to be a highly critical complainer, and I always find inefficiencies with certain products as well as the inefficiencies caused by the very nonexistence of a certain product which I could use.

I then try to fill these efficiency gaps with my new, "novel" creations.

You just need to look for problems and come up with solutions that create value for potential customers. If you have a problem, the chances are that many other people have that same problem.

Possibly the best starting point would be Pursuing something you're interested in.
If you're the kind of person who can put your interest aside for the money, then basically any growing or untapped niche will do.
