Getting an accurate number of Indexed Pages

Hey guys,

I put up a new site about 20 days ago, and I uploaded a sitemap.

Google gave me back this information in the webmaseter tools

Total URLs: 436,831
Indexed URLs: 13,779

When I do a google search for

site:www.nzbusinessdirectory.co.nz

it says Results 1 - 10 of about 11,700

But then if I go to the last page of the search results (24) it says

Results 231 - 233 of 233

And this is after I click the "repeat the search with the omitted results included." button.

so what I want to know is,

How many of my pages are auctually indexed,
Indexed URLs: 13,779
Results 1 - 10 of about 11,700
Results 231 - 233 of 233

I would go by the number in Google Webmaster Tools. Other pages could have been excluded in the search due to duplicate content. Also a bunch of your pages may have ended up in Google's supplemental index.

As long as Google doesn't find any problems in crawling and indexing your site, you probably don't need to worry about the exact number of pages that get indexed. If you really want all of your pages indexed, work at getting a lot more backlinks, especially to some of the inner pages.

 

Different data centers can have different pages indexed, Id go with google webmaster tools that is probally the most accurate

 

swt as, im in no hurry as I have 500,000 pages, and with the new mods im about to upload there will be another 750,000 pages so I know it will take a while, I was just looking to see if the 250 that show in the web results are the only pages indexed, glad to find that they are not.
