Getting Affiliates to promote

    Hey guys,

This is a question for experienced clickbank merchants. I'm new to selling on clickbank and have my first product approved and listed in the marketplace.

Since it is new it doesn't have any statistics ($/sale, Total $/sale, %/refd: 86.0%, Grav, etc) yet it's not an attractive product for affiliates to promote.

Most affiliates look for products that already have an established track record (ie good stats).

Do you have any tips / suggestions to get clickbank affiliates to promote a new product?

    Thanks,
    Shannon

This might not seem like it's answering the question, but it is. I have question for you - when are you launching the product?

    Hi Shannon,

Provide some affiliate tools, do a launch here and at other popular forums.

Most of all though get out there and get some sales yourself, as long as you are in the niche and it is selling well affiliates will pick up on this and start to promote you.

Collect affiliate email addresses and give the option for a free report showing them how to make money in the niche.

The long and short of it, the more help you offer to affiliates, the better the product converts the more money you will make for you and affiliates.

    All products start from zero.

Make your offer easy to promote. Most Clickbank sites I see look horrendous. The creators are so focused on themselves that they overlook the simple things. Most create not advertising materials at all.

Think about what makes it easy for you to promote other products, look at the top selling products and see what they are doing that you can emulate.

The vast majority of clickbanks products are junk and will never make any real money. But the few that are good seem to really rake it in. And a lot of this has to do with how easy you make it for your affiliates to get on board.

Newbies make the mistake of promoting only the top listings... real marketers look for the opportunities that they can exploit before they become saturated. The life of most products is short.

I agree that you have to give out some promotional tools in order for your product to become attractive to some affiliates.

    1) Affiliate tool are extremely important. Make sure you make this stupid easy for affiliates. Things like email swipes, PPC keywords, articles, banners.
    2) Make sure that your CB Marketplace description is attractive to affiliates. Provide details on commissions, payouts.
    3) Complete your CB Vendor Spot light.
    4) Have you done any tests on how you page is converting? If not.. do it. Use Google Optimizer to test different headlines, pages, price points. Affiliates want to know that they are going to be sending traffic to something that converts. Conversion rates are great, but many affiliates want to know how much they are earning per click. Doing your testing will help.
    5) Promote yourself and find JV partners that are selling similar products. They aren't your competitors. Most people in the same niche will be happy to promote.
    6) Create some giveaways for your affiliates to use as a bonus and give to their list.

One of the biggest mistakes product owners make when they first launch a product on Clickbank is to sit back and wait for affiliates to show up.

I'm glad you're taking the initiative and not doing that.

OH... and tell people here what your product is... they may want to promote and provide some tips/pointers.
