I learned the hard way that getting an affiliate to trust your site is difficult. I'm in the proccess of optimiazing my site now, but could use help. My process is like this: I identify a product then optimize my page for that product saying this product is awesome etc with 100% original content. But then I apply for an affiliate link and get declined. The reasons they list are ridiculous: like 20 things ranging from not enough traffic, to we don't accept sites that collect personal info, or your site is not quite what we're looking for. Therefore I'm not sure what the real reason is... I use a forum. Any light ya'll can shed would be appreciated.
9 times out of 10 the hesitation on the part of the network is due to the applicant's native country being notorious for fraud, not because of their website.
Sounds like you need to get on the horn! EDIT: I just realized you're probably talking about one of the bigger networks like CJ. Yeah, it can be a pain.
I apply directly for the product I want. So if its Sony I would go to the Sony website and follow the instructions they list. On this specific case they required I comply with Linkshare. So I did, then the manufacturer sent me an email saying they can not accept me into the affiliate program at this time and listed the common reasons why someone doesn't get accepted, which doesn't give me any reliable feedback. I just don't want to spend weeks optimizing a site and driving traffic only to find out that the manufactuer won't approve me. What's the deal, is that what I should be doing?
