Is it worth it? $450, that's about $50 more than my monthly earnings. But if the traffic it generates, plus the advice I get is worthwhile, then it will be worth it for me. Also, there aren't many people that can give such review on DP i suppose =S unless I am wrong. If this is too expensive, what about ReviewMe's on other websites? Please let me know your opinion on this. My site is http://vistarewired.com
I would definitely say it is worth $450. Going only on pure presumption, testimonials and witnessing of sites that get reviews from Chow go Boom! Hmm.. Wouldn't say it's completely unrelated. It sort of is as it's about Vista specifically and Chow's blog is more specifically about just making money online. But John Chow's blog is also about himself, his viewpoints, technology and the Internet in general. So... this is related to technology and the Internet. I'd say it's related enough to do it but I would say you probably would get a better result getting a review from a blog more related specifically to Vista or operating systems or Windows.
There was a review about a site that was no related to johnchow so it got no attention or anything. So LIke I said check out blogs. There are lots on dp.
This guy's site is not that unrelated though. Most John Chow readers are Internet marketers but also general computer and technology enthusiasts, so I think it's related enough to be reviewed there but he would get a better response on an even more related blog.
For $450, at 10 cents a click, a well-worded ad brings in 4,500 visitors. Maybe, maybe, around 25 sales, if not more. For $450, "ReviewMe," you will bring in well under 300. Maybe, maybe, 1 sale. Do the math. Sorry, I know numbers confuse many of you. I'm bored, so when I'm not giving spammers a hard time, I like to play math teacher.
Or why nt pay 99.00 and have some professional person write you a press release...hmm I like that math better, I read over at WF, that some guy wrote a press release for another and then viola! the dude was on CBS..
Reviews aren't bad idea. Only Chow is a brand thats little pricey. There are blogs with similar traffic you can get a review from with lot less money. Search SponsoredReviews.com Blogsvertise.com etc.
From a man who has had a review by JC I can say it was one of the best $400 I ever spent. If you haven't read our review on it then its worth a read - http://blog.adtoll.com/2007/11/13/the-john-chow-effect-on-adtoll/
I have to follow Jon here, there really isn't any bnefit to forking 400.00 dollars to get a review that'll mean nothing in the long run. People who spend like that fruitlessly, end up somewhere where they don't want to imagine!
I disagree... if your product is good and targeted well to JCs audience then you will do well, just like we did.
If I were to buy a review, I'd probably buy one from www.tylercruz.com . I read his blog frequently, and his reviews always seem to be worth more than what he charges ($120), both in traffic spikes and publicity. He's also #23 on the top 100 list at http://www.45n5.com/top100 .
Sorry, don't have a link yet, that's why I said I would hire him if I wanted a review. Right now, I don't have any sites that are even close to being ready, but when they are, I want to hire him because I feel he does outstanding work. As a matter of fact, that's why I read his blog frequently because I've found out about sites I never knew of until I saw his post about them. He seems to want to give his readers a lot of great information while also giving his advertisers their moneys' worth. I don't know the guy personally, but I'll hire him in a heart beat when I've got a site that's ready for business.
I dont recommend getting a review on John Chow. If I were you I would put that money into some Adsense testing and see how that fares out for you first.
