I believe a cast iron case for getting a refund from Google Adwords. A client has been charged for clicks on a new campaign. The campaign is properly set-up within Adwords. The website to which traffic is directed has the new version of Statcounter installed. The campaign is auto-tagged to show the gclid code whenever a click generated by Adwords lands on the site. I have 5+ years experience of pay per click advertising an web analytics. The problem is Google is charging as much as £3 ($5) for clicks that never land on the site. Google has done a test that shows the campaign is working. I have done independent tests that show the Statcounter code is properly installed. However, clicks from the Adwords campaign are not being delivered. We have sent Google Dublin the log file. They claim they can't trust Statcounter. They only trust Google Analytics. This is the action of a monopolist. Does anyone know of way of getting a refund for non-existent traffic?
i also faced such a problem. adwords shows that they had sent a lot of visitors which i paid for. but statcounter never shows any stats.
Thomenoble, was your Statcounter code installed properly? That is, was it showing all the other traffic? And how did you resolve matters with Google?
Yes my statcounter account shows all other traffic i got from various sources... But actually after some time the campaigns became profitable for me.. the problem is that i can't see the visitors stats inside my statcounter panel...
Thom (and others), in the end Google responded to my case. Apparently a junior employee should have handled my complaint differently. They've now provided a refund.
Fadetoblack22, Google Dublin agreed that the clicks hadn't been delivered to the page. Apparently the gclid auto-tagging code was the source of the problem. If this occurs then it is supposed to be flagged. In my clients case it wasn't. The campaign uses Statcounter rather than Google analytics.
yeh but thats not always possible they dont give you an option of who to contact. someone will just answer your message to the support team.
