Hi there I am in the process of learning as much as I can about SEO and am so far having a good level of success from it for the few sites we have designed. I understand that everything SEO is a long process and overnight results are rare and I am being patient, but so far my site has a page rank of 0 and it doesn't change no matter how much I promote it. So. my question is How do I get a good page rank for my website www.snapshotmedia.co.uk I have been building backlinks, and the website is SEO friendly. Feel free to take a look. All feedback and advice is welcome!
Well same here too but I think to get something we need to lose something (In this case time), I mean we shuld be patient
Yeah, i agree that time is the main factor but for us learners it would great if others who have had this experience could share their advice with us.
Hi, snapshot media I think just keep on building backlinks using your targeted keywords in anchor text from all quality sources would be OK. I used to have a site with only one under construction page had a PR of 2. Have a nice day,
Well, you just keep on building backlinks and forget PR. One day you will automatically get the high PR. Good site
Google only updates 'toolbar' PageRank every few months. (i.e the PR score that you can see from the Google toolbar or other PageRank checkers) It's a bit of an irrelevance in real terms, as the PR they use in the algorithm has already been updated and used to evaluate a site's place in serps long before that. Stop thinking about it - it's your position in serps for your keywords that matter, and the traffic that brings.
yours is almost 8 months old website and has a good link popularity. Building links will not help you though. But you should know the right way to build the link popularity. I could make out from your site and some suggestion. dont change your home page content quite often. learn the tactics to build quality one way links. include some good content with anchor texts from the home page. link building is not quite impressive, try to hire professional and experienced seo guys or learn on your own. i have a site which is just 75 days old and ranking pr2 (buk-mark.com). Time is not the constraint here, it is quality and uniqueness. Good Luck.
Add content on a regular basis as well as build links and you will definitely get the desired PR. The question is: do you really need it more than traffic?
All I can add is that it takes alot of work, I mean alot. but it will pay off in the long run. Good Luck.
a quick way to get a decent PR is as follows. 1) You need a site that has already a decent PR 2) Take that page and redirect it to a page on your new site. 3) when Google sends spiders out they will transfer that page rank to the new page. I followed this and it worked for one of my pages, was able to transfer a PR 3 to a brand spanking new page.
PR, in every sense, is about as useful as having $100 and no currency system. The reason you can have a high PR and a low amount of traffic is because your pages are not very high-ranking in SERPS. In other words, you need to pick a long-tail (keyphrase containing 3-4 words) with the keyword you want to target. PR, as far as I can tell, is a combination of how "important" your website is and how many backlinks you have. Importance does not equal traffic, however.
I checked your backlinks using yahoo site explorer and I found out that some of your links are images and designs. Currently you have 2000+ backlinks. Try build more quality links.
Backlinks, preferably quality ones are what you need. Try to get them from webmasters or blog commenting in your niche. Don't spam these blogs though. Try also to change your homepage content as frequently as you can and if possible, have some articles relating to your niche i.e SEO on some of your inner pages. All these will bring you targetted traffic and improve your PR. Good luck.
My site now has a pagerank of 2. Sweet. I will keep building backlinks as much as i can. Anyone have suggestions for creating back links for a web design company. So far i am using blogs, forums, css galleries, social networks and directories. Am i missing something? Maybe press releases, which are the best free press release sites?
