Getting a new site "off the ground"

    Hey guys,
Just came here for a bit of advice - I soon will be launching a website that allows people to earn money online through completing offers etc.
Obviously the main way these kinds of sites spread is through people telling others and promoting their referral link but I was wondering if you guys could provide any ideas on how to get this kind of site "off the ground" ie. reach a number of members whereby the site will continue to grow organically through word of mouth.
Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi,

First of all, try to answer below questions:

    - what makes your site unique?
    - what makes you think people will want to spread the word through word of mouth?

Usually, knowing the answer to the first question will answer the second.

If you really have something you think is worth it, tell someone about who you think will see this worth also - and who has a lot of contacts. The easiest way to do this is...networking! On sites like twitter, facebook, etc. Try to find legitimate contacts (not the fake spam ones) and ask them to tweet about you, etc.

Good old word of mouth is what made google big (have you ever seen a google ad?)...But then you need a quality product.

Also, the revenus souce has to be definable. If you are selling other peoples product what happens if they don't like it? Will it kill your reputation.

I am assuming (I know its a bad word) that you are modeling your site after the likes of treasure trooper and cashcrate. If I am wrong then sorry. But, here is what I would do. Do not try to optimize the site itself. Build a blog about making money with offers/surveys and promote it from the blog. Now the blog can be on the same domain or where ever you want.

But, I would also have some people post your link in different forums, buy some blog comments, yahoo answers there are quite a bit of dp members that offer that service as well. Just some thoughts that came to mind real quick.

I would use a CMS (Content Management Sysstem) like Joomla, Typolight (both are free) or others which provides you a lot of modules which you can implement and use it.
Otherwise let it programming from scratch through a programmer using PHP and MySQL. So you would be able to make little changes, if you are familiar with programming.

How would you recommend getting people to "follow me" on these sites?

there are many virtual communities and networking websites like FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace, message boards, blogging, Instant messengers like Skype and AIM to name a few, which allows people to promote a product and make sales globally.

As for as I know, you're trying to start a GPT ( Get Paid To ) website. I've seen plenty of people creating these websites and they've never had the success that they planned on. If you're not coming into that niche with a clue on what you're supposed to do, don't even bother. You're just going to be wasting money on a project that is bound to fail.
