Getting A MUCH Lower Commission Than Listed

I've been promoting a CB product that gives out a $12 commission as per marketplace listings -- I know that's low but it's passive, near-regular sales through an SEO'ed page put up months ago.

The problem is, today when I logged into my account, I saw that I had made a sale with that product, but got just a measly 26 cents as commission!

Don't know who's pulling a fast one here but my guess is the publisher may have been testing a new low price ($1 or so) when a sale came through (Does that happen?). I also noticed that the same publisher has reduced his commission rate for the product from the original 50-55% down to just 28%.

That's really shameful IMO but would like any clues on this from more experienced CB'ers. Has something like this happened to you before?

Check the item number. If it's different, it may be a trial product or something. You also mentioned that the commission rate was lowered.

Send an email to the publisher. He'll sure know what happened.

What is listed is the average payment affiliates get, not a set sum. So if the most affiliate sales from every other affiliates includes sales of upsells and backend products that's what's included in the marketplace listings. In this case the average affiliate payout is $12 even though the cost of the front end product is like $1 or something.
