The more comments you get on your blog, the more active and interesting it becomes, which in turn creates more traffic and comments. Blogs that aren't inviting when it comes to comments and conversations, tend to be stagnant and boring. The question is, how exactly can you make your blog the kind that attracts lots of comments? What does it take to make readers want to participate? Giving your blog these qualities isn't that hard if you keep the following factors in mind.

Write About Controversial Topics: In order to increase the number of valuable comments on your blog, you can always write about a controversial topic that people would comment on. People are much more likely to respond to a controversial post, because it generates strong emotions. You can end up with very long conversations on this kind of topic; the only thing to watch out for is too much emotion, which can lead to insults and flame wars. This is a way to get your readers really engaged, which will keep them returning to your blog. If you do start such a thread, make sure you're prepared to moderate it to make sure it doesn't get out of control. Pose Questions in Your Article: One of the simplest ways to get more comments on your blog is to end your articles with a question. This will lead to people offering their opinions in the form of comments. By asking questions in your posts you give people the opportunity to do something they love to do, namely commenting and sharing their opinion. This approach can be applied effectively on your blog as well as Facebook and Twitter. The first thing you concentrate on should be getting more people involved in your blog. Turn your post into a conversation and explain to your readers that their answers will provide others with a deeper understanding of the subject. This method is also great because it can lead to lots of comments because it can spark an argument below your article.

Show Gratitude to People Who Comment: If you want to make your blog more inviting to comments, thank people when they do contribute. You can send out a simple email to the people commenting on your blog that thanks them for their contribution, feedback or suggestion. When you take the trouble to thank them, they'll be much more inclined to want to return and participate in future discussions. This is how you turn your readers into loyal readers.

Building a following for your blog and receiving more comments is something you have to work at every day. Every blogger wants to see as many comments as possible, as this is evidence that people are visiting the blog and participating. So if you want to see more readers commenting on your blog, remember to apply the tips we've covered in this article.
