Let first start by saying thank you to everyone. I have learned more in one day on DP than i could have from spending tons of money on books and videos. I have a website that I am still trying to build. My theory for a high PR is... 1. To create a website for my domain and the 25 subdomains. Have them all link. As long as i have a decent niche for all with decent traffic.( high PR= link popularity with good traffic. Each link must have descent traffic also.) 2. Work on smaller searched keywords with very little return websites for a couple of sub domains to obtain faster PR. From what I understand google will notice your site faster when you are linked to a high PR site. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you again.
A couple things to clear up for ya real quick: High PR is the result of link popularity. It has nothing to do with traffic. I don't know what you mean by "each link must have descent [sic] traffic also" but again, traffic has nothing to do with PR. The keywords you target shouldn't affect your PR (although it may be easier to attain inbound links for certain keywords). Google will notice your site faster if you are linked FROM a high PR site, not to one. I think that you may be confusing PageRank with your actually rankings. PageRank is just one part of Google's algorithm that we are able to see visually via the Google toolbar. Sites can rank very poorly but have very high PR if it is obtained in the wrong way.
Thanks KKIBAK for the correction " link from" and the reply. Would you or anyone know if there is a post that list the steps on what it takes to be placed on the first page of a search w/o buying advertisement ie... Step1. high PR 2. links 3. traffic and so on. Thanks, Noe
Heh, unfortunately there isn't a clear cut list otherwise we'd all be #1 If you are planning on optimizing for anything competitive you'll want to spend alot of time learning (this forum is a great place for that!)--it's not something you're going to be able to do overnight. Or you could always hire an SEO to do the job for you.
