I notice a domain I want hasn't been renew and yet seems to still be pending a delete from the registrar. The domain expired over 2 months ago and yet I still can't register it on namecheap or godaddy or anything. Do I have to continue to wait or is there something else I can do to guarantee or atleast better my chances of getting the domain?
There is a 75 day (exactly or roughly - I'm not sure) waiting period after a domains "expiration date". I can't post a link to it since I'm a new user on this forum, but if you search google for the domain dropping process, there's a lot of info. As for getting the domain there are a few services, I think pool is one that will try to get it for you, for a fee.
Domain catching is a very tricky business. The big boys pretty much have it stitched up. You'll be lucky if they throw you any scraps. If the domain is worth anything it will be gobbled up by greedy registrars before you even get a chance to bid. That said, some domains do slip through, just not very often. Here are some links if you have some cash and time on your hands... Snapnames Club Drop Pool
i went to the snapnames and i place a bid of 60$ for a domain that i want the auction dont say when it is going to end i am the only bidder.so i will take the domain???how long is going to take?
I was wodnering that too. Unless they giving time to see if someone else will ask for the domain that way they could make us bid on the same ones.
I wrote an article a few days ago that might help you get dropping domains http://www.sharkspace.com/blog/how-...ur-letter-domains-and-domains-with-page-rank/
That could of saved me some time if I knew of that thread earlier lol but thanks. Although it would be good to be able to tell how many people are going for the domain just incase I need to look for others.
You can wait, since expired domains (as said before) take around 2 months+ until they're available again, just so the original owner has a chance to catch it for whatever reason. To increase your chances you can backorder the domain - as soon as it is dropped the company will AUTOMATICALLY register it for you.
Well I tried Pool and still haven't recieved any word from them about the domain but it appear they did get it earlier not there's no whois for it so I'm just waiting. Anyone knows about how long from the closing date it takes?
the domain that i want says at the start date of auction at may 2007 and i believe i am the only bidder since is not so popular in any way.Do you think that they let me know this week to pay 60$ and get it?also if i want to have it in my greek registar that my other domains are is it possible. give me your lights here. thanks.
I found this page on pool.com maybe it will help everyone. http://www.pool.com/help/faq.aspx?lifecyle=1 I guess I'm in the pending delete phase so I have a few more days.
Has anyone use Pool.com before. I'm still waiting on this damn domain with no update from them. There pages says" The domains says: As you can tell its been passed the 5 days now and still nothing has changed. Is still normal or what? If I try to bring up the domain in the browser it says domain may be on sale on Pool.com. So why am I still waiting.
very true...... Getting them on the drop is just becomming so difficult.... Check out www.refunddomains.com - This site lets you find domains after they have already been scooped up and then released by the greedy mongrals.... Sometimes they release a good one by accident...
OK That is the wierdest site I've seen but I guess that's normal for BO domains. The domain wasn't on the list so what I can cather from that is that there is still a chance for me getting it. Just this waiting is aggravating the hell out of me.
I used to have some luck a few years ago but it is so different now. There are major players ... and then everyone else. I have a few good domain names and have fielded some offers but nothing in the millions!
