getting a domain name de-blacklisted

I have a 10 year old domain -- a very good and short domain, the first one I ever registered, that was used years ago for adult site advertising.

The name itself isn't pornographic or x-rated, and I think it would be great for a celebrity related blog.

I know the site has been added to lots of blacklists and content filter lists due to the adult content that was once on it. If I put non-adult content on the domain, will it be removed from these lists? Is there a way to request that it be removed from such lists?

I doubt it, but wonder if anyone here has had a similar experience trying to "rehabilitate" a good and old domain name.

I think it would be easier buying new domain name. Most sites will keeep site black listed or listed as spam.
