Hello guys, I'm handling my client site. He is from UK, and day after yesterday I was checking the my site backlinks in webmaster and majestic seo software, I found that I got 23,500 backlink from one site. That site is also from UK. After seen this I called that company and they said you don't worry, it's not spamming. But I'm not sure about this. I think this is a spamming. Google will take action against my site. Guys, what you think? Your answers are most welcome. Thanks
Google might already know about the site and ignore the links. Don't worry so much. The site might appear spammy, but you won't be penalised due to them. More likely, the links have no weight anyway. Wrong. It won't be bad (as in drop rank), but might not provide any benefit.
Too many backlinks may drop the website rank,if it new ...than ok.Please check the website ,it is ban or not by anyone of the company . Well i have take the decision........... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=251260
Did all that happen at once or overtime? If you get too many backlinks in a short amount of time then that obviously isn't good. As long as the site that you've received that number of backlinks from is a high quallity site then it shouldn't be a problem. But of course, you never know what Google might be thinking.
First of all, don't use any software any software for link building. Next thing, if you getting lots of links from one website but from different web pages then Google may ignore it and won't penalize you. I think you are getting links from different web pages. Are you?
I can possibly hurt your rankings but sometimes Google will just ignore the link value, which could lead to a drop in rankings. But as rahulbangar mentioned if the links are coming from different places you shouldn't worry much. With all of the algorithm updates lately its best to be safe and diversify your link sources.
sounds like some nagative SEO. I can't say for sure what effect it will have, as I don't work for Google, but if all 23000 use the same anchor text, you might find it hard to get ranked for that phrase, especially if this dwarfs the number of links you have from other sources.
It is super spamming. Naturally a website cannot be supposed to get 23,000 back links from a single website. Ask the administrator of the website to remove such back links or you'll face Penguin penalty.
It would depend on the spun of time. Anyways, for how long you have been optimizing this site? If it took let's say 6 months then that's spamming. It may lead to the dropping of site's ranking.
Maybe the website has a lot of content and pages so if he put your link on sidebar or footer you will get 23.500 links because he has so many pages.
That's what I'm thinking too. It couldn't be spam if it's on every page as in the footer or sidebar. Chad
Exactly my thoughts... if it is part of a footer or something, it can appear on thousands of pages pretty easily. Google isn't going to penalize you for that
That was my first impression as well. Google cannot punish you for something like that. Maybe the value you get is limited from all those links (unless they are from a high PR + respectable site).
