i got that on my old uploading site called myupload.us but i think that was because of the files that the users were displaying on forums.

 

As always Brad is correct to the point on this SEO the website if the keyword you are going after has tough competition

 

Hit the nail on the head there. That is my next advertising route to take.

 

It alot easier as well, ranking well in serps and building traffic is cut throat for some topics. Were as if I do it offline there is almost ZERO competition.

 

Im two weeks into a new site and getting 100 uniques a day...

lets see if I can get that to 1000 in the next two weeks

 

i am getting 11k uniq in two months and 97 page view daily.. and now increase by 5% daily ..


just focus on what ur site can offer and why makes ur visitors returning to ur site ..

 

My best advice that has withstood the tests of time... add more content. The more pages you have, the bigger your "web" grows to search engines.

 

I can give you that amount of traffic immediately.

But traffic may not mean money.

with my first site, i now have 1k a day... but took me 10 months.

also the site is not in english so the market is a tad smaller

I'm starting to think that good and unique content is a must. Once you have good content, the path to fast success involves presenting yourself and your content to high profile websites. If those websites feature your website, like collegehumor.com did for you, you will be on the road to fast success.

 

But you DEFINITELY NEED something to make your visitors come back to you as well. Watch my stats within a couple of days and you'll see the figures drop quickly. Why? Because it's a tiny website and I didn't have a 'visitor return' policy set up. Dumb me! I've started however developing a new bigger project which should cover that aspect as well.

I have found that by adding regularly updated, unique content, I have people coming back to the site all the time. People are also linking to the site all the time. The site starts to promote it's self as more people find it and link to it or bookmark it.

What measures are you taking to in your "visitor return" policy? CMS? Forum? Newsletter?
