There's been a lot of talk about which autoresponder is the best at the moment, between aweber and getresponse.

So I carried out a short test on the delivery rate to see what happens after I optin with each service I used. After all, I think email delivery is the most important part in your business

    Getresponse
    *********

hotmail, yahoo and gmail = complete success

    - confirmation email sent to my inbox. The followup emails went to my inbox

    my own host domain email......

    - confirmation email went to my inbox, but followups went to my junkmail

    Next...

    Aweber
    ******

hotmail, yahoo and gmail = complete success

    - confirmation and followup email went to my inbox (success)

    my own host domain email......

    - confirmation email went to my spam box, but after confirmation, followups went to my inbox.

    So...

From the results I got I would say Aweber is the overall winner. if I use my own domain email to optin using Getresponse, all followups goes into my spam box. This can easily kill your conversions

    Cheers,

    - Mustafa

    Hi Mustafa,

Thanks for the report. The results might move in favour of Getresponse if the "confirmation email" that arrived in your domain email inbox included instructions on whitelisting the sender... Then we would expect Getresponse to do better overall since the Aweber "confirmation email" landed in the spam box...

Either way, it looks like you have to ask the subscribers to do something...

Getresponse - ask them to whitelist
Aweber - ask them to check spam folder to confirm

Anyway, thanks for the report, Mustafa!

your host domain email setup might be too strict. Since most people use hotmail, gmail and ymail, I'd say it's better to go with getresponse. Plus, it's less expensive.

    I would probably say getresponse.
